Why it rocks:
Golden Glory Cornelian Cherry Dogwood is a beautiful ornamental and flowering tree. This tree is grown in single-trunk and multi-stem clump forms, which makes this tree versatile in the landscape. Yellow flowers appear in early spring before the leaves unfurl. Summer brings bright red, edible fruits which attract birds. Green leaves turn an outstanding red in the fall. Golden Glory is an upright, abundant flowering dogwood which was propagated from an Illinois specimen, and is a great plant for Chicago and the Northern Midwest.
Where to put it:
Golden Glory Cornelian Cherry Dogwood can be used anywhere in the landscape to add some color and native flair. Dogwoods are an excellent specimen to plant near a patio, at corners of the house, or in groupings anywhere in the yard. Dogwoods are commonly used for privacy screening, foundation plantings, or anywhere where a small clump form tree is ideal. This species is not used enough in the modern landscape, and makes an excellent small tree that is one of the best native ornamentals growing in the US.
What it needs:
Golden Glory Cornelian Cherry Dogwood is extremely durable, and native to the Midwest. This tree will do well in full sun or partial shade and is considered the most durable of the larger dogwood types.
